“WE HAVE FUNDING!”

“Yes! This grant covers the transmission equipment so is a huge step towards getting on the air.
Oh happy day!” – Chuck Hutton, Engineering Committee

This week our station is honored to learn that we have been awarded a $6,500.00 from 4Culture through the 2016 Cultural Equipment Program to assist with the purchase of low-power FM transmitter equipment. Per 4Culture Executive Director Jim Kelly:

“Your award is the result of a highly competitive process. This year saw another record number of proposals, and our panel evaluated every application. They selected projects that demonstrate excellence and that support the purchase of equipment that will improve cultural experiences for King County residents and visitors. We applaud you for being part of this successful group.”

Thank you very much for the recognition, Executive Director Kelly!

The application for this grant was spearheaded by one of our station Engineering gurus – Chuck Hutton. Chuck was supported in this by fellow volunteers Jerry Russell and Doug Paterson, as well as the station’s Capacity and Development Committee. However, Chuck had prior experience in the challenging arena of grant applications.

According to Chuck, “It’s its own special ballgame.”

Congratulations and many thanks for this success, Chuck!
